This is an elaborate love story between John McClane and Al Powell.
So basically: NYPD cop John McClane flies to L.A. to spend the Christmas holiday with his wife and children. He immediately goes to his wife's business, the Nakatomi Plaza building, where a party is being held. When Hanz Gruber and a team of terrorists take control of the building, McClane must use his experience as a cop to stop them.
Action and comedy should always go hand and hand and this is a perfect example. And Bruce Willis even has hair! Who else forgot that he started with that? This film is just extraordinarily enjoyable. The characters are all interesting and are full of witty lines. The heist plot isn't very original, but the way the story plays out keeps the audience engaged. Alan Rickman's performance is brilliant, also.
This totes deserves to be on the list.
