The Elephant Man (1980)
Trailer
People are frightened by what they don't understand.
So basically: Joseph Merrick has spent his entire life being a freak in a side-show due to his very rare condition of elephantitis. When Dr Frederick Treves visits him, he takes Merrick back to his hospital. There, he helps Merrick interact with others and gain back his dignity.
This is one of those movies that I'd recommend people if they were looking to have a Friday night movie watching thing. But it certainly isn't a movie I would be like "everyone should watch this!" Everything comes together to create a movie worth watching, but only once. This is so short, but I've said all I feel is necessary.
You should see this, but it doesn't deserve to be on the list.
Ziggi seal of disapproval!

Are you kidding me?
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent movie, I can’t believe you’d give this great film a thumbs down. It’s a wonderful movie and sure, it isn’t the most enjoyable or rewatchable film, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile. It’s very, very good. I guess all movies should be happy or enjoyable according to you. This is a masterwork.
