So basically: Mark Renton and his mates Sick Boy, Spud, Begbie, and Tommy escape the boring landscape of life through the use of heroin. However, they decide to give up the habit and earn a respectable living ... at least until they discover just how bleak society is. Renton's parents have other plans for him, though, and force him to go clean.
My summary really doesn't do this movie justice. All of the characters are brilliantly cast (and strangely, as I know most of them from other roles, which are complete opposites of their Trainspotting characters) and come together to create an awesome collection of characters.
This movie is one of those that you either love or hate, and for that I don't think it should be on the list.

Oh this is the next one I'm going to review. Watched it last night, and I loved it. A lot better than Requiem for a Dream.
