V for Vendetta (2005)

Trailer

Remember, remember the 5th of November. The gunpowder, treason, and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
So basically: In London, circa 2020's, Adam Sutler has taken control of Britain and turned it into a totalitarian regime. One man, V, stands before the government and attempts to take it down through a series of terrorist attacks. V rescues Evey, a young woman, from prosecution from the secret police, and during the next year he teaches her to stand up against the injustice of Britain.

I'm not in love with this movie, but I do love this movie. The language is brilliant! All those Vs! The plot is interesting, as to be expected from an adaptation of a graphic novel, and of course The Wachowski brothers' do not disappoint. Oh! And Stephen Fry! Awesome.

This should defs be on the list.

Ziggi seal of approval!

  3. Absolute Garbage, Even Alan Moore wouldn't want anything to do with this derivative piece of maggot ridden film. Stephen Fry is one of the most self critical and sharpest artist out there, and yet he failed so abysmally. I AM DISAPPOINT!!!

    1. This movie was alright, it’s not great. But I wouldn’t really say it’s garbage. It’s a good enough superheroes film, just not one of the best movies ever made.

  4. Wow, no wonder you think these long epics and bleak dramas are boring or uninteresting to you since you’re someone who argues that this should be listed among the best movies of all time. What a joke, this is probably one of the most undeserving candidates on the list. Not terrible, it’s decent and okay enough, but not an all time great movie either.
