Crash (2004)

Trailer

Everyone's a little bit racist.
So basically: The lives of a group of people in L.A. are intertwined for the span of two days. Each of the characters have their own problems to deal with and each story involves a different perspective on racism.

I don't understand how someone could be that racist. Srs. I really, honestly do not get it. At all. Like, why people like steak. Is that a bad example? I don't know, but yeah. It was a very compelling movie, tho. The characters, which drive the story, are all interesting and not one-dimensional (well, mabbs Sandra Bullock's character) as one might suspect because of such a plot. I liked Daniel and how he interacted with his daughter. Ludacris was a tad annoying, and very hypocritical, which I guess was supposed to be humorous, which it was to an extent, but when someone is going off about how the racial stereotype is untrue and, well ... ludicrous, and then proceeds to fit right into it, it's a bit of a disappointment. Peter was excellent playing opposite him, however.

This movie should be on the list and deserves the "prestige."

Ziggi seal of approval!

  1. It's one of my favorite movies. I loved Terrence Howard in it. And also the young guy with the daughter, their storyline was awesome.

  3. I’m sorry but I don’t think Crash belongs on the list. How you can say that amazing films like No Country for Old Men, Raging Bull, Toy Story 2, Scarface, Ben- Hur, and Chinatown but that this trite film on racism deserves to be listed among the greatest films of all time is bonkers to me. I don’t think it’s a terrible movie, but not top 250 worthy.

  4. How you can say that the characters are boring, uninteresting, or one dimensional in Chinatown or Raging Bull, but great in this film is really beyond me. A lot of the characters in this movie were caricatures . I also don’t know how you could say the much better Magnolia is dull, but this movie is inspired. This movie is not that good, I’m shocked that you think it’s such a great film.
