So basically: Ellie Andrews is a socialite who eloped with King Westley. When her father hears about this, he whisks her off from New York to his yacht in Florida. Determined to get back to her love, she escapes and decides to take a bus up the coast. There, she meets Peter Warne, a journalist who has just lost his job at the newspaper. He sees an opportunity to get his job back by accompanying Ellie on her trip and writing a grand story about it. On the way, they fall in love.
I love rom-coms, so of course I love this movie. Both of the leads are brilliantly cast and the characters interact beautifully together. The road trip was very interesting and kept the story moving along, unlike most rom-coms where the action takes place in one city.
Anyway, this is a very funny movie about love and defs deserves to be on the list.
